Full-size Wooden Railway Engine Name/Number/Shed Plates to Order

My hobby is making these in my spare time. I have a house full and there are also several on show at the Great Central Railway at Loughborough. I am now able to take on a few orders. Part of any proceeds will go to the GCR.

I try to make them as accurate as possible within the limits of the materials available, e.g. the thickness of the plates and the width of any beading. There may be slight differences from the originals, but they look good and are much lighter, and cheaper, than the originals.

There are some things I can't do, such as Footballs, Foxes or Badges, curved GWR plates are difficult, and I can't line them out below the name.

I can make most classes, but I do not have photographs of all possible plates. If you have a photograph which I can wok from I would be grateful, otherwise most classes are fairly standard in lengths and lettering. If I do not know where bolt holes should be I will make an educated guess. All plates are flat backed, including A3, B17 and others. Plates without holes are drilled on the back for hanging. Background colours as appropriate, with brass or aluminium paint on letters and beading.

Smaller plates can be posted, well packed and insured, but longer plates are preferably collected, from near Lincoln, near Sandiacre (M1/Junction 25), or at the GCR Loughborough on the regular Gala weekends which I will attend. Postage is extra.

Enquiries are welcome, on sanspareil45@yahoo.co.uk. I will try to reply quickly, and give an idea of how long the plates will take. They are all made individually, so it is first come first served.
